Cycling

Some cycling roads are in the countryside, and the famous cycling course on the "Shimanami Kaido", the Nishiseto Expressway, is very popular and it is crowded by cycling fans every weekend. You can rent a bicycle by 500 yen per day at any cycling terminals on the Shimanami Kaido and also can return it to another terminal. You need to pay 1,000 yen as the warranty, but it would be paid back if you return the bicycle at the exact same terminal. The road starts from Onomichi and passes six islands and reaches to Imabari in Ehime prefecture, so you can enjoy the photogenic scenery of the islands and Seto Inland Sea from the cycling road on the long bridges that connect islands.

Trekking: Sandankyo Gorge

Spectacular views. Sandankyo gorge is gifted with limpid stream and green. It is a large gorge which length is about 12km from the entrance of Sandankyo gorge to Hijiri Lake.
